Sometimes people want more. They're tired of the status quo, the same old, same old, where one picture looks like another. They yearn for a new and fresh perspective. They want someone to really "see" them in the environment they're in. That's me! I'm more than a journalist....more than a photographer. My skills have melded and intertwined over the years to make me a top photo-journalist in the field. My name is Karen Welsh and I'm a professional photographer and an award-winning columnist, editor, and feature writer living in Hilo, Hawai'i. My 25 years as a journalist and photographer have given me a unique perspective on the world.
